Christopher Phelps was born and raised in upstate New York. His interest in architecture began at an early age. While attending SUNY Delhi, he took every opportunity to visit buildings designed by Frank Llyod Wright and museums like the Guggenheim in Manhattan. He worked in his father’s printing company and learned to appreciate the craft. Both music and drawing came naturally to him. Later in life, in addition to playing acoustic guitar in a band, he took to racing cars in his spare time.
His studio opened in the early ’90s, and by the mid-2000s, Christopher, as lead designer, was trailblazing in a fast growing luxury home market, creating some of the most coveted and awarded luxury residences in the Carolinas and still does to this day. Over his successful professional career, Christopher has designed thousands of homes from Charleston and Charlotte to Greensboro and Asheville and shows no sign of stopping. Unique, distinctive, and innovative architectural styles are his creative hallmark and why so many top luxury builders and homeowners enjoy working with him. Christopher's creative energy and talent are boundless as he continuously draws from a passionate vision and mindset. His work in residential design also happens to be his favorite pastime.
